Segment 319, Part Two of the 16 part series on China, continues the exploration of the Forbidden City picking up at the 5 marble bridges and walking through to the personal area where the Emperor and his family could spend their leisure time in gardens of ancient trees, incense burners, and an artificial mountain which only the emperor was allowed to have created and possessed.

So many things only the Emperor could use, such as bright colors on his buildings and palaces, the symbols of the Dragon and Phoenix, Artificial mountains - and I'm sure the list goes on, all to set himself apart and above the people he was placed on earth to serve. Power always corrupts, it is no wonder the Chinese people held benevolence as the most important quality of the 5 virtues. It remains so for all who take up the power of ruling, held even above wisdom.
